Simona Mohamsson, who is Palestinian and serves as Sweden’s education minister, wore a Star of David necklace during a televised party leaders’ debate last week, ahead of Sweden’s September elections.

“I carry the Star of David for the children who do not dare to do it in today’s Sweden.”

The gesture triggered nonstop online abuse and threats. Wali Ghanem called her a “self hating creature” and wrote, “May she burn.”
