Some Iraqi pro-Iranian militias remain set on striking Saudi Arabia, even after a broader move to postpone any response.

The al-Nujaba militia says it will retaliate. Leader Akram al-Kaabi called diplomacy with Riyadh futile and demanded an "appropriate response" for killed fighters.

An official told Al-Akhbar that intermediaries offered payment to stop the militias from acting, but said it "will not prevent us from avenging the blood of the martyrs." He added: "Saudi Arabia will receive a hard lesson."
