A spokesman for Iran's Khatam al-Anbiya Armed Forces headquarters dismissed U.S. claims of normal ship movement through the Strait of Hormuz as "a complete lie" reflecting American desperation.

He said the strait is under Iran's full control, that no tanker or commercial ship can pass safely without approval from Iranian security forces, and that any threat will be met with a decisive response "even stronger than the previous one."
