Hamas has backed remarks by Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei calling for an end to fighting across the region, including Gaza and Lebanon.

Hamas statement:

"The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has a very positive assessment of the statements of Mr. Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, on the necessity of ending the war in the entire region, including Lebanon and Gaza.

Stopping these wars is a great benefit for the region, its people and its future, and their continuation only serves the plans of the Zionist enemy, plans that are based on dividing the region, destabilizing it and exploiting its resources."
