Germany and Italy rejected calls to suspend the EU Israel cooperation deal, despite pressure over the Lebanon war and developments in Judea and Samaria.
Spain and Ireland raised the issue at an EU foreign ministers meeting in Luxembourg.
Germany’s Wadephul called the proposal “inappropriate,” stressing the need for continued dialogue with Israel.
Italy’s Tajani said no decision would be made.
Ireland’s McEntee pushed for action, saying the EU must uphold its fundamental values.
