Indirect technical talks between the U.S. and Iran are underway in Doha, according to a source with direct knowledge of the negotiations. Qatar and Pakistan are serving as mediators, and the sessions involve chief negotiators and specialist teams.

Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff met Qatar's prime minister on Tuesday to lay the groundwork for Wednesday's technical talks, but are not attending the sessions themselves.

Qatari Foreign Ministry: Witkoff and Kushner will arrive in Qatar to meet with mediators. No meeting between senior American and Iranian officials is planned.

Witkoff and Kushner will visit Russia again soon following an agreement between Putin and Trump, according to Kremlin aide Ushakov.

President Trump: “The signing of the agreement will be in Europe, perhaps during the weekend. I won't be able to be there, but Vice President Vance and the envoy Witkoff will.”

Witkoff has been advising Trump to continue Iran negotiations and presenting an optimistic assessment on a deal, but other senior U.S. officials are far more pessimistic, according to Axios.

Trump’s team has added Nick Stewart from FDD to the Iran nuclear talks, joining envoy Witkoff’s office, according to reports.

Stewart is known for a hardline stance on Iran, backing aggressive pressure including sanctions and potential military options.

The negotiating team now includes Vance, Kushner, Stewart and Witkoff.

President Donald Trump is sending special envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Pakistan for talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi this weekend, CNN reports, citing two administration officials.

Trump: "If they don't sign the agreement we will blow up the whole country. Power plants and bridges will become legitimate targets."

Kushner and Witkoff are on their way to Islamabad to resume talks. The political and security cabinet meets tomorrow.
