U.S. President Donald Trump told Fox News' Maria Bartiromo that the Iran war is "over."

BARTIROMO: For those people who have not been following it close, can you explain why it was critical for the US to get into Iran? Can you articulate that?

TRUMP: So easy. Easiest question you've asked me so far. They can't have nuclear weapons. They have nuclear. They want to enrich more.

Bartiromo: You were criticized because you said a whole civilization will die….

Trump: I’m fine with it because it brought them to the table. For years, I’ve had to hear them say death to America. We’ve had regime change. When I say about a civilization, it really has changed.

Bartiromo: Is this going to be enough, the blockade in this strait, the opening up of capacity in the US, to lower the price of oil and gas?

Trump: It might not happen initially…Gas hasn't gone up as much as I thought. But regardless, even if it did, we have to stop this group of people

Bartiromo: Do you believe the price of oil and gas will be lower before the midterm elections?

Trump: I hope so. I mean, I think so, it could be. It could be the same or maybe a little bit higher.
