In February 2025, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas “repealed” the Martyrs Fund. Under the replacement system, the family of a terrorist killed while carrying out a suicide bombing or other terror attack, or a terrorist sitting in prison, still collects monthly PA martyrs fund payments, but must qualify based on “socioeconomic need.”
In short, “pay for slay” is still running.
In June 2026, the UK announced at least £10 million in additional financial assistance to the PA for 2026.
In September 2026, the UK sanctioned Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria, banning imports from them outright.
