French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot: "France has asked the public prosecutor to open an investigation into the treatment of French citizens who were part of the last flotilla to Gaza. Based on a report from our consul general in Turkey, I was informed of sexual violence, exposure to cold, repeated beatings and humiliations against French citizens. All of these acts may constitute criminal offenses, so I decided yesterday to refer the matter to the public prosecutor."

“If the Israeli government does not change its policies in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, we cannot act as if nothing has happened.”

Sanctions against Israel are currently being blocked due to Hungary's veto.

However, I believe this veto will be lifted (with new Hungary PM) and that these sanctions will be implemented in the coming days.”
