The IRGC says top Basij commander Brig. Gen. Gholamreza Soleimani has been eliminated, hailing him as a “martyr.”

The Basij forces were responsible for a the vicious crackdown on the Iranian protesters in January.

Per Iran International: strike on Ali Larijani reportedly also killed his SNSC deputy Ali Bateni and his son, a close adviser.

In a separate hit, Basij commander Gholamreza Soleimani, his deputy, and multiple senior figures were eliminated.

The strikes come as the regime braces for unrest around the Chaharshanbe Suri festival, with security forces on high alert.

In recent hours, the IDF says it struck Basij forces at 10+ checkpoints and positions across Tehran.

One target was an “emergency position” used by the Basij and IRGC, previously a football club.

The strikes follow an overnight hit that killed Basij commander Gholamreza Soleimani, his deputy, and several senior officers.

The IDF says the operation is dealing sustained blows to Basij capabilities.
