Israel and the U.S. agreed that in the initial stage of disarmament, weapons handed over by Hamas will be transferred to U.S.-led ISF forces headed by U.S. Maj. Gen. Jasper Jeffers for destruction. They will not initially go to the Palestinian technocratic government (NCAG).

Israeli participants included Shin Bet Director David Zini and Military Intelligence chief Maj. Gen. Shlomi Binder, who briefed officials on violations by Hamas. The sides reached a series of understandings on implementing the Gaza framework.

Gaza reconstruction will not begin until Hamas is fully disarmed throughout the Strip, Israeli officials say. Netanyahu made clear targeted operations against Hamas will continue. Israel has not agreed to halt targeted killings or withdraw from the current yellow line.

The Navy has since raised its alert level. Shin Bet chief David Zini reportedly warned in closed sessions that Eilat could be the site of "the next October 7," though the Shin Bet says no specific current threat exists. Security in the area had already been bolstered months earlier with IDF and police drills simulating raids and attacks.
