Following Iran's resumption of attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. Treasury's OFAC has sanctioned an Iranian financial facilitator accused of institutionalizing large-scale embezzlement and diverting public funds offshore. OFAC also targeted Iranian exchange houses moving billions annually for sanctioned Iranian banks.

The U.S. Treasury has sanctioned networks supplying both sides of Sudan’s war.

The sanctions target companies tied to the SAF that imported explosives, chemical precursors, ammunition, and military equipment, as well as a network that recruited former Colombian soldiers to fight for the RSF.

Treasury also said Sudan’s military procurement network is often supplied by Iran (IRGC)

Trump: ‘Despite their protestations and false statements to the contrary, coupled with the drumbeat of the Fake News, which is doing everything possible to make the U.S. Victory as small and insignificant as possible, Iran has fully and completely agreed to highest level Nuclear inspections long into the future (Infinity!!!). This will insure “Nuclear Honesty.” If they did not agree to this, there would be no further negotiations! Based on this and other major concessions being made by Iran, I have agreed to allow the Hormuz Strait to remain OPEN, with no further Naval Blockade. However, all ships are remaining in place should it be necessary to reinstitute the Blockade, which seems, at this point, highly unlikely. The Money and/or Sanctions that the U.S. Treasury is releasing goes into escrow, controlled by the U.S.A., and will be used for the purchase of food and medical supplies, exclusively from the United States, including Corn, Wheat, and Soybeans from our great American Farmers. These are things that are desperately needed by Iran. This is a humanitarian crisis, and I feel it is necessary to help, NOW, before it is too late. Talks are going well! Thank you for your attention to this matter. President DONALD J. TRUMP

Reporter: Treasury lifted sanctions on Iranian oil today?

Trump: Well, I’m going to have to find out exactly the status. All that money is coming back in the purchases of food. They have 91 million people they can’t feed.

Reporter: You sure that the Iranians won't use profits from oil sales to rebuild their military?

Trump: They’re not suppose to be doing that.

Economy

Reporter: Treasury has lifted sanctions on Iranian oil today, sir.

Trump: Well, I'm gonna have to find out exactly the status. But if the sanctions go out, money's gonna be put into this country. All that money's coming back in the form of purchases of food, which they desperately need.

They have 91 million people. They can't feed them. So the money that we lift is gonna go to our farmers, largely to our farmers.

Treasury Secretary Bessent:

The Iranian regime will lose the zero-sum game it is playing.

Any damage it inflicts on our allies in the Gulf will be paid for with funds extracted from Iranian Accounts.

Any tolls paid to the Persian Gulf Strait Authority will be offset by funds extracted from their accounts.

Every attack Iran launches will only deepen the economic and financial consequences it faces.

The U.S. Treasury has sanctioned Iran's Persian Gulf Strait Authority, calling it "a joke" and warning all entities against paying tolls or concealing them as aid.

Iranian troops are going unpaid, police are not reporting for work, and Kharg Island has been shut down. The economy and currency are in free fall.

A U.S. naval blockade has pushed Iranian crude on the water to record lows. Both Iranian airlines will be cut off from landing access, refueling, and ticket sales. Treasury says only a satisfactory negotiated outcome will reverse the pressure.

"October 7 normalized support for Palestinian armed struggle. People now openly support Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Hizbullah. Westerners accept they cannot impose their leftist-European model of struggle on Palestinians."

Economy

Treasury's Office of Foreign Assets Control designated a major Iranian foreign currency exchange house and associated front companies that processed hundreds of millions of dollars for sanctioned Iranian banks. Iranian exchange houses collectively facilitate billions in annual foreign currency transactions, enabling the regime and its military to evade sanctions and move oil and petrochemical revenue through the international financial system.
