Incredibly, at least 150,000 people returned, and it was an even more spectacular evening than it would have been as normalized! It showed work under pressure. Congratulations to the Secret Service and Law Enforcement on being able to get so many people back into the Arena in such rapid fashion! ICE and CBP are just as important to our national security. It is long past time to fully fund DHS, as the threats against our country are growing exponentially.
In that regard, I’m urging that as soon as the Senate returns this week, that we push for fully funding DHS. I implore my Democrat colleagues to support fully funding DHS at a time of great danger to America.
I will be introducing standalone legislation tomorrow to authorize and appropriate money to fully fund the White House presidential ballroom - which over time will provide adequate security for this president and future presidents for events like the White House Correspondents Dinner.

According to reports, Allen’s brother alerted New London Police Department after receiving the alleged manifesto before the incident.
U.S. Secret Service and Montgomery County Police Department later interviewed Allen’s sister, Avriana Allen, at the family home in Rockville. Key points from the interview:
• She said her brother often made radical statements and spoke about doing “something” to fix today’s world.
• She confirmed he bought 2 handguns and a shotgun from Cap Tactical
Firearms and stored them at their parents’ home without their knowledge.
• He regularly trained with those firearms at shooting ranges.
• He was reportedly linked to a group called “The Wide Awakes.”
• He also attended a “No Kings” protest in California.
Acting AG Blanche: The bullet that hit the USSS agent's vest likely came from the shooter, not crossfire. The suspect traveled by train from L.A. to Chicago to D.C. and checked into the Washington Hilton.
