The U.S. State Department has issued a Worldwide Caution over heightened Middle East tensions, warning Americans everywhere to exercise increased caution. It cites potential for escalation, flight cancellations, airspace closures, and threats to U.S. facilities and interests worldwide.
Americans will soon be able to take passport photos at home with a phone or laptop camera instead of visiting CVS, Walgreens, or another photo service, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced. The photos would be verified in real time using facial recognition, per the State Department.
Indonesian special forces have recovered the body of American pilot Nicholas F. Goselin, who was killed after armed separatists attacked his aircraft shortly after it landed at a remote airstrip in Indonesia's Papua region. His remains are being transferred to the U.S. Embassy in Jakarta for repatriation, with the State Department assisting his family.

A U.S.-brokered framework agreement between Lebanon and Israel was signed at the State Department in Washington. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called it a step forward following recent talks but said "much work" remains, while Lebanon's ambassador described the framework as an initial step.
