South Korea shipped more than 176,000 tonnes of fuel to Russia in July and August, mostly diesel. Seven tankers made 14 voyages to Russia's far east. Three were under UK and EU sanctions. Several declared Japan or Singapore as their destination before heading to Vladivostok.

Russia's August seaborne oil product imports hit 368,000 tonnes, its highest monthly total since the full-scale invasion. South Korea supplied 31% of it.

Europe still lacks sufficient air defense, counter-drone and ballistic missile defense for a potential Russian attack, and expanding systems such as Patriot is painfully slow. Ukraine, by contrast, is evolving at "lightning speed" with drone production near 200,000 units a month.
