Russia Ministry of Foreign Affairs:
'On April 8, Israel carried out a massive attack throughout Lebanon, including the capital and its surroundings. As a result, hundreds of people were killed and even more were injured. Many are still trapped under rubble, and rescue efforts are ongoing.
In this regard, April 9 was declared a day of national mourning in Lebanon.
We believe that Israeli attacks, which result in civilian suffering and the destruction of critical infrastructure, deserve the most resolute condemnation. Such actions are pushing Lebanon even closer to the abyss of a humanitarian catastrophe, worsening the already vulnerable socio-economic situation of the population.
We express our condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the injured. We sincerely hope that dialogue and considerations of humanity will prevail over the logic of war and the tragedy of destruction.'
