Iran will not withdraw from control of the Strait of Hormuz, PressTV reports, citing developments over the past 48 hours. Under Tehran's new strategy, the strait will be closed completely after every attack. Iran says it will strike enemy targets at a scale of at least twice the number hit against it.
NOW: After 3 commercial ships were attacked in the Strait of Hormuz, an Iranian official told Press TV that all traffic through the waterway is now being conducted under Iran’s arrangements, warning that any U.S. “provocative action” will be met with an “immediate and decisive response.”
Iranian Press TV correspondent Hadi Hoteit entered an area in southern Lebanon where IDF forces are still operating. Footage appears to show him being struck by shrapnel during the incident.
Iran warned it will “punish” Israel for strikes against Iran and Hezbollah, calling them “in violation of the ceasefire,” and urged Pakistan to pressure Israel to halt attacks, state-run Press TV reports.
“By violating the ceasefire while simultaneously attacking Lebanon and Iran, this regime is raising the cost of the agreement for the United States. Now is the time for the mediating country to step in and put this aggressive regime in its place,” the official said.
