Golani Brigade

The Golani Brigade is an Israeli infantry brigade within the Israel Defense Forces. Known as one of the IDF's most storied combat units, with a long history of frontline operations across Lebanon, Gaza, and other contested theaters. In recent months, the brigade has conducted sustained ground operations in southern Lebanon, clearing Hezbollah tunnels, destroying weapons depots, and engaging Hezbollah fighters near the Litani River and Beaufort area. IDF: Cpt. David Hazutt, 21, a Golani Brigade platoon commander from Ashkelon, killed in a clash with a Hezbollah operative in southern Lebanon overnight. Soldiers encountered the operative while entering a structure in Deir Siryan around 2 a.m. One additional soldier lightly hurt. IDF: Golani Brigade forces, under 36th Division command, completed a special operation to secure the Litani River area in southern Lebanon.

Over the past week, troops uncovered Hezbollah living quarters, underground tunnel routes containing large quantities of weapons, arms depots, and launch platforms. The IAF struck over 100 military targets in support. Dozens of Hezbollah operatives were killed in close-quarters combat and airstrikes. A major underground tunnel belonging to Hezbollah was also located and cleared.
