Two Israelis and four Palestinians were killed in a clash this morning in the West Bank village of Tell. The incident broke out after a group of Israelis conducted an unauthorized hike in the area.

The slain IDF officer is Maj. Yuval Ezra, 27, from Herzliya, a battery commander in the 282nd Artillery Regiment's 411th Battalion. He was hit by gunfire after a Palestinian snatched an assault rifle from a civilian security officer amid the clash.

The IDF has also recognized the second Israeli as a fallen soldier. He is Master Sergeant (res.) Benayahu Mellet, 32, from Yitzhar, a commander in the Jerusalem Brigade's 8119th Battalion. At the time of his death he was serving in the reserves as a regional defense soldier.

IDF Spokesperson on forces activity during the past week:

In the Gaza Strip, underground tunnel routes with a total combined length of more than one kilometer were destroyed.

In southern Lebanon, four strikes were carried out against terrorists who posed a threat.

In Judea and Samaria, more than 60 wanted individuals were arrested.

Leaders

Hassan Yousef, one of the co-founders of Hamas in the West Bank, was released today from Israeli prison where he had been held for two and a half years under administrative detention. Yousef is the father of Mosab Hassan Yousef, who became widely known as "The Green Prince" after it was revealed he had worked as an informant for Israel's Shin Bet.

Operations

The IDF arrested over 70 suspects and seized weapons and terror funds across Judea and Samaria over the past week.

Operations targeted Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives. Forces confiscated M16 and M4 rifles, pistols, improvised firearms, ammunition, drones, and over 100,000 shekels in terror financing linked to Hamas.
