Several ship masters anchored near Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, were directed over VHF broadcast to leave their anchorages, according to a UKMTO advisory. Authorities are investigating and vessels have been asked to report further suspicious activity.

An oil tanker has reportedly been struck by Iran’s IRGC Navy near Fujairah, UAE, with oil leaking from the vessel.

The co-pilot planned to seize control of the aircraft and use it in a suicide attack.

The suspect in the Flydubai terrorist attack began his activities in Australia in 2017.

JUST IN: According to the UKMTO center, an LPG tanker was struck earlier this morning by unknown projectiles 13NM west of Al Jazeera, UAE.

The attack sparked a large fire onboard, which has since been extinguished.

Iranian media: the UAE Maritime Authority has blocked 472 vessels from accessing the country's port services. The majority are either linked to Iran or transited the Strait of Hormuz through Iranian waters.

Fox News: UAE prosecutors have formally classified the attack by the Flydubai co pilot as an attempted act of terrorism. Suspect Hamam Al Hammami could face the death penalty, according to reports.

Omani copilot Hamam al-Hammami, accused of attempting to crash a flydubai flight bound for Israel, could face the death penalty in the UAE, a senior Emirati source told Ynet. Israeli intelligence officials are taking part in the investigation inside the UAE.

Al Arabiya reports the Omani co-pilot of the Fly Dubai flight had been barred from flying in Oman over radicalization he underwent in Syria, where he spent most of his time before moving to the UAE. His name is reported as Maa'm Al-Hamami.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid, Dubai's Crown Prince and UAE Minister of Defense, went to the hospital to meet the Indian pilot Smit Machchhar. He praised the pilot for his bravery.
