Lebanon’s Al-Akhbar, aligned with Hezbollah, reports citing field sources that Syria has deployed additional forces to its border with Lebanon, including around Al-Qusayr, a key alleged arms-smuggling route. The move is described as part of efforts to tighten control following the reopening of the Al-Masnaa crossing under U.S. pressure, aiming to curb cross-border weapons transfers.
The IDF warns that Hezbollah’s use of the Al-Masna crossing on the Syria-Lebanon border for military operations and arms smuggling could prompt an Israeli strike.
