Lebanon is a country in West Asia bordering Israel and Syria. Known for its fractured political system, Hezbollah's entrenched armed presence, and recurring conflict with Israel tied to Iranian proxy dynamics. Recently, Lebanon has been subject to sustained Israeli military operations in its south while pursuing U.S.-mediated negotiations over Hezbollah disarmament and IDF withdrawal. The IDF has released new details on the three-month operation to capture the Ali Tahr Ridge in southern Lebanon.

Around 50 Hezbollah terrorists barricaded inside the underground tunnels chose to fight to the death. Israel offered them a chance to surrender through intermediaries in Lebanon. They refused and were eliminated.

Yahalom fighters found drones, anti-tank missiles and other weapons inside. Egoz fighters carried out ambushes near the shafts. Hezbollah's attempts to rescue or resupply the trapped men were disrupted.

Israel informed the U.S., which then notified the Lebanese government.

Israel and Lebanon hold another round of negotiations next Tuesday and Wednesday in Rome, Kan News reports.

Foreign Minister Youssef Reji, the party's most hawkish anti-Hezbollah figure and the man who tried to expel Iran's ambassador, confirmed he has stopped coming to the Foreign Ministry in Beirut over security warnings. The ministry sits in an area where Hezbollah can operate.

Former Lebanese military court official Peter Germanos says Western intel points to party leader Samir Geagea as first on Iran's assassination list, with Reji second. The party's annual memorial in Maarab today was moved indoors over fears of a drone attack.
