Hamas has backed remarks by Iran's Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei calling for an end to fighting across the region, including Gaza and Lebanon.

Hamas statement:

"The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has a very positive assessment of the statements of Mr. Mohsen Rezaei, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of Iran, on the necessity of ending the war in the entire region, including Lebanon and Gaza.

Israel is entering a new “robotic age” in warfare, accelerating lessons learned from Gaza and Lebanon, where tens of thousands of unmanned and remotely operated systems have already been deployed.

Under the IDF’s 2026 to 2030 Hoshen Plan, robotics, AI and autonomous systems will become central to force building across land, air and sea. The IDF is also establishing dedicated structures for robotics and autonomous warfare.

Over the next decade, Israel plans to expand robotic systems for tunnel operations, reconnaissance, logistics, route clearance and combat. Older armored vehicles are also being converted into remotely operated platforms, while drone and ground robot swarms are being developed.

The longer term goal is mixed human machine formations, with robotic systems moving ahead of soldiers and taking on the most dangerous battlefield missions while humans retain oversight of lethal decisions.

"Progress has been made in the negotiations, and in any case, it is better than the results of the war. The scope of Israeli attacks in our country has already been reduced after the signing of a framework agreement. There is no disagreement between the Lebanese on the goals, from Israeli withdrawal and the return of the prisoners, to the restoration of what was destroyed. In the end, we will not allow Israel to remain even one centimeter on our land, and not one soldier from its forces to remain on it."

Yesterday the IDF claimed Hezbollah had violated the ceasefire after the incident, but the assertion vanished from its noon summary of strikes in southern Lebanon.

Israel wanted a strong response. The U.S. worked behind the scenes to prevent the collapse of the agreement with the Lebanese government and the recent talks in Rome. A security source: "The U.S. sent a message that there was no violation by Hezbollah and demanded Israel refrain from responding."
