USAF airstrikes reportedly caused significant damage to the Lavan Island Refinery, located off Iran’s southern coast in the Persian Gulf.

Senior Trump advisers have pressed the UAE to take a larger role in the conflict with Iran, with proposals that include capturing Lavan Island.

The UAE struck Iranian targets multiple times before and after the ceasefire, Bloomberg reports. One April 8 strike knocked an oil refinery on Lavan Island offline for months. Abu Dhabi also coordinated with Israel on an April 6 hit on the South Pars Petrochemical complex in Asaluyeh, which produces roughly 50% of Iran's petrochemicals, in response to Tehran's attack on the Borouge plant.

According to the Wall Street Journal, Emirati warplanes hit Iran’s Lavan Island oil refinery on April 8 in a covert operation the UAE has never publicly acknowledged.
