A Hezbollah cell operating a drone near Israel's security zone in southern Lebanon was struck and killed today, the IDF says.
Commando Brigade troops spotted the drone over Kfar Tebnit. The IAF then located the operatives hiding nearby and struck them "to remove the threat to our forces."
Lebanese sources report the IDF carried out a large controlled explosion in the village of Tebnit, at the foot of the Ali al-Tahr ridge in the Nabatieh district of southern Lebanon.
IDF struck an armed squad near its forces on the Ali Taher ridge, close to the village of Tabnit, inside the Israeli security zone in southern Lebanon. The military said the threat to troops was neutralized immediately.
Footage released by the IDF shows a dead militant with a weapon beside him.

In the Tebnit area, forces are working to dismantle Hezbollah infrastructure, including an underground network tied to the group's Badr Unit that extends more than a kilometer underground and spans hundreds of kilometers. The official said operations in the security zone are defensive and focused on eliminating immediate threats.
Sgt. First Class Nir Ben Ari, 21, of the Maglan unit, was killed when Hezbollah rockets and an explosive drone hit a military position in Kfar Tebnit in the Nabatieh area overnight. Thirteen soldiers were wounded, two seriously. The IDF struck Hezbollah infrastructure in the area in response.
