An apartment inside a Gaza City residential building was hit from the air overnight by the IDF and Shin Bet. The target was Ali al-Amoudi, deputy chairman of Hamas's political bureau in the Gaza Strip, who was in the apartment at the time.

Al-Amoudi was Yahya Sinwar's right-hand man and personal assistant, and took part in the decision making behind the October 7 massacre. He was involved in the murder of four Israelis in Judea and Samaria in 1993, and in the 1994 killing of Shin Bet coordinator Noam Menachem Cohen in Ramallah.

He is today the most senior Hamas figure in Gaza, directly involved in Hamas terror activity and in rebuilding the organization for war.

The IDF says precision munitions were used to limit civilian harm. Results of the strike are under review.

Gaza reports five killed. No senior Hamas name among them so far.

Israeli official: "He was in the apartment, waiting to find out the results of the attack."

The Netherlands is now enforcing its ban on goods from Israeli villages at the airport, including items carried in passengers’ personal luggage.

Passengers arriving at Amsterdam from Tel Aviv have reportedly been searched for products originating in Israeli villages in Judea and Samaria, East Jerusalem or the Golan Heights.

The rules cover even gifts and souvenirs. Dutch Customs says prohibited goods can be seized, while intentional violations can be referred for criminal prosecution.

Dutch prosecutors have said deliberate violations can carry a maximum penalty of up to 6 years in prison.

Outrage in Israel after footage appeared to show a Palestinian sewage tanker dumping waste into Nahal Hebron, southwest of Otniel in Judea and Samaria.

Facebook user Maher Rayan uploaded the video before apparently deleting it. I geolocated the site to approximately 31.4304532, 35.0092455. Google Maps imagery shows another sewage tanker at the same discharge point.

The vehicle carries Palestinian plate 4 9812 L, registered in the Hebron area. A phone number painted on the tanker is linked online to Al Saeed Company for sewage tankers in al Dhahiriya, although its current ownership could not be independently confirmed.

Israeli military:

"Last night (Thursday), IDF surveillance identified indications of activity in preparation for a smuggling attempt in the eastern border area.

Following the findings, forces from the Jordan Valley and Foothills Brigade, officers from the Israel Police Jordan Border Unit of the Judea and Samaria District, and Border Police forces in Judea and Samaria operated jointly and established ambushes in the area.

During the operation, two residents of Jericho were arrested. More than 30 pistols and two M-16 rifles were seized.

The suspects and weapons were transferred for further investigation by the Judea and Samaria District Central Unit.

Security forces are deployed along the eastern border and continue to operate to thwart smuggling attempts and safeguard the security of the citizens of Israel."

To understand some of Israel’s frustration with the UK sanctioning Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria:

In February 2025, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas “repealed” the Martyrs Fund. Under the replacement system, the family of a terrorist killed while carrying out a suicide bombing or other terror attack, or a terrorist sitting in prison, still collects monthly PA martyrs fund payments, but must qualify based on “socioeconomic need.”

In short, “pay for slay” is still running.

In June 2026, the UK announced at least £10 million in additional financial assistance to the PA for 2026.

In September 2026, the UK sanctioned Israeli communities in Judea and Samaria, banning imports from them outright.

UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband announces sanctions on Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria.

Britain will ban imports from "illegal settlements" in the Judea and Samaria, sanction British firms financing settlement expansion, and sanction "violent settlers." Miliband says the UK previously called the settlements illegal and now considers the occupation itself illegal.

He claims 65 Palestinian communities have been displaced since 2023 and that the UN reports an average of about 6 settler attacks on Palestinians per day. Miliband says the UK regards it as ethnic cleansing by settlers.

Trade with Israel inside the Green Line will continue and the UK opposes BDS: "We are acting against the settlements, not against Israel."
