Holon is a city in central Israel, located on the coastal plain south of Tel Aviv within the Gush Dan metropolitan area. Known as a mid-sized urban center with a population of roughly 200,000, it sits within range of missile threats from regional adversaries. Sergeant Liran Ben Zion, 19, from Holon, of the 9th Battalion, 401st Brigade, was killed by anti-tank fire in southern Lebanon. A sergeant and another soldier were seriously wounded. Later, two more anti-tank missiles struck the area with no further casualties.
