Marco Rubio: All I would say is any time you're in a combat zone there's danger

China's Foreign Ministry on Japan's nuclear policy:

Since Takaichi took office, Japanese right-wing forces have laid bare their intention to revive militarism, break free from the Three Non-Nuclear Principles, seek nuclear weapons, and continue down the wrong path.

If Japan pushes to revise the Three Non-Nuclear Principles and introduces allied nuclear weapons, it will undermine the post-war international order, violate its commitment to peace, and ultimately pay a heavy price.

China's Foreign Ministry:

Taiwan is an inalienable part of China's territory. This is the prevailing consensus in the international community.

Our message to the DPP authorities is clear: the historical trend is unstoppable and Taiwan independence is a dead end.

The Chinese people's just cause to oppose Taiwan independence separatism and seek national reunification will win more and more understanding and support

Leaders

President Trump:

In honor of Senator Lindsey Graham, a big supporter, the U.S. Senate should pass the Clarity Act. China, and many other countries, would like to take complete and total control of this major financial “happening,” as well as A.I., where we are now leading, but where they are fighting hard. Don’t let China win on either subject!!!

In the first half of 2026, the United States overtook China to become Taiwan's largest trading partner for the first time in 25 years.

Taiwan's overall exports grew strongly by around 47% year on year in this period, driven largely by surging high tech shipments (especially semiconductors and electronics) to the US amid global AI demand and supply chain shifts.

This is consistent with the Ministry of Finance's June 2026 trade release showing continued robust export momentum (e.g., +40.3% in June alone).
