Yesterday, IDF forces from the Yiftah Reserve Brigade (679), operating under the 91st Division in the Bint Jbeil sector, carried out searches of a building where a clash had taken place last Thursday in the security zone, in which a reservist was seriously wounded.

During the searches, a Hezbollah operative who was active inside the building opened fire toward the troops. The forces immediately returned fire and eliminated him. There were no casualties among Israeli forces.

The U.S. is pushing to deploy the Lebanese army in Farun, Janduria and the western and eastern Zawtar areas near Bint Jbeil, possibly before July 11, a Lebanese government source told al-Sharq al-Awsat.

The source said the deployment could expand to more areas in southern Lebanon, and that the report was meant to signal Iran, Hezbollah and Amal that the separation of the Iranian and Lebanese tracks is moving toward implementation.
