Mossad says it thwarted an Iranian backed plot a few weeks ago targeting the Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline, along with Jewish and Israeli sites in Azerbaijan.

According to the agency, the cell planned attacks on the Israeli embassy, a synagogue in Baku, and Jewish community leaders. Azerbaijani authorities arrested the operatives and seized explosive drones and fragmentation devices smuggled into the country.

Mossad says the network conducted surveillance and collected intelligence on targets under direct guidance from handlers in Iran.
