Venezuela says it has deported Nicolás Maduro ally Alex Saab amid ongoing criminal investigations in the United States.
"The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela announces the deportation of Colombian citizen Alex Naim Saab Morán, carried out on May 16, 2026, in compliance with the provisions of Venezuelan immigration law. The deportation measure was adopted considering that the aforementioned Colombian citizen is allegedly involved in the commission of various crimes in the United States of America, as is publicly known and widely reported in the media."
