Artemis II commander Reid Weissman posted footage of the crew's first moments with the rescue team after landing on Friday.

Artemis II pilot Victor Glover on his safe return:

"I wanted to thank God in public, and I want to thank God again, because even bigger than my challenge trying to describe what we went through, the gratitude of seeing what we saw, doing what we did, and being with who I was with, it's too big to just be in one body."

U.S. Navy EOD divers swept the Orion capsule for hazardous materials before extracting the Artemis II crew from the Pacific Ocean off San Diego yesterday. The operation was conducted aboard the USS John P. Murtha.

Artemis II astronauts have traveled farther from Earth than any humans in history.

Yesterday, NASA launched the Artemis II mission at 6:35pm ET, sending four astronauts on a journey around the Moon.

The mission aims to pave the way for future Moon landings and eventual crewed missions to Mars.

NASA: We're going around the Moon. Come watch with us. Artemis II's four-astronaut crew is lifting off from NASA Kennedy on an approximately 10-day mission that will bring us closer to living on the Moon and Mars.

Artemis II is scheduled to launch shortly, sending astronauts on a 10-day mission around the Moon and back in the first crewed lunar flight since Apollo 17 in 1972. Watch live:
